SmartPaks are one of the few applications of mass-customized manufacturing that survived the bubble. When we told Agile Commerce that our vision was to be able to take an order at 2pm, and then ship any of 100 Trillion different custom-configuration SmartPaks same day, that was the kind of challenge that wet their appetite. We could not execute such a complicated and demanding business model without the sophisticated, scalable, and stable IT systems that Agile Commerce helped to architect and build.

SmartPak was founded in 2000 with the objective of simplifying the way horses are fed supplements and medications. Since then, they have launched a catalog business, retail store, and a canine version of their service. They were named to the Inc 500 list in 2005 and 2006.
Agile Commerce began working with SmartPak in 2001, shortly after their launch. We built many of their systems including the technology behind their shopping cart and online catalog, integrations with payment providers, image acquisition and QA applications for their pharmacy, and scanning applications that help drive their manufacturing floor. Additionally, we assisted in the hiring and training of their current in-house IT team.
